About

Running beyond
the limit

Jonathan “JAWS” Jaworski didn’t grow up a runner. Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, he discovered distance running during the 2020 pandemic — and it rewired everything.

By 2021 he had fully committed to ultra-endurance training, stepping into one of the most demanding disciplines on earth. In 2025 he completed the Tahoe 200 Endurance Run — 200+ miles around Lake Tahoe through extreme elevation, rugged mountain terrain, and multiple consecutive days of unbroken effort. Finish time: 86 hours, 54 minutes, 44 seconds.

Off the trail, Jaws teaches physical education and coaches varsity baseball and football at Thunderbird High School in Phoenix, Arizona. He’s also a DJ — the kind of person who shows up fully in every room he enters.

Your best self isn’t waiting to be discovered. It’s waiting to be earned.

In March 2027, Jaws takes on his most ambitious and personal challenge yet: a 390-mile run across the entire state of Arizona, completed over six consecutive days — from the New Mexico border at Lupton to the Colorado River at Topock. The route follows historic Route 66 through rolling high desert, climbing past Flagstaff at 7,000 feet before descending west through Seligman, Kingman, and the mountain pass to Oatman.

In Honor Of

For Mark Staehely

1981 — In Memoriam

Route 66 begins in Illinois — where Jaworski was born and raised, and where his friendship with Mark first took root. Mark was one of his closest friends, his brother’s best friend, the neighborhood’s older brother, and as Jaworski describes him, the greatest teacher of his life. Mark lost a six-year battle with childhood cancer — a loss that never stopped shaping the man Jaworski became.

“Mark suffered from his illness for six years. I am going to suffer in his honor for six days.”

Family Man

Built on more than miles

Before the trails, the finish lines, and the miles, there is family. Jaws runs for them — and alongside them. The patience, the encouragement, the relentless belief that you can do more than you think. That’s not a race strategy. That’s just how he lives.
